Market Research and Insights Manager

Department: PRODUCT STRATEGY & TRANSFORMATION
Location: Boston, MA

The Market Research & Insights Manager leads the design, execution, and analysis of market research initiatives that uncover unmet needs, identify growth opportunities, and evaluate products, services, and experiences. This role informs product strategy, market positioning, and organizational decision-making using insights from qualitative and quantitative research, competitive intelligence, and survey-based studies using platforms like Qualtrics. By translating complex data from primary and secondary market research into actionable insights, the Market Research & Insights Manager supports product, marketing, and business strategies that drive measurable outcomes. This role also delivers timely, data-driven recommendations to guide strategic initiatives, product development, go-to-market planning, and business growth. Ensure all products comply with federal, state, and industry standards.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and manage the overall market research strategy, including design and execution of quantitative and qualitative research studies in alignment with business and product strategy.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify research needs and deliver insights that influence decision-making.
  • Lead and execute market research programs and studies to assess market perceptions, evaluate experiences, uncover unmet needs, opportunity areas, and growth drivers.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets to identify key insights and trends, including conducting key statistical analyses.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitors’ offerings, product launches, positioning, partnerships, pricing, customer engagement, and market share ensuring the company stays aligned with evolving market developments.
  • Build and maintain market research and competitive intelligence dashboards, reports and knowledge repositories.
  • Develop and present market research reports with actionable insights and recommendations to leadership and product, marketing and sales teams.
  • Collaborate with business teams to integrate market research insights into roadmaps, tactics and go-to-market strategies.
  • Synthesize primary and secondary market research, competitive intelligences, and industry data into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Manage external research partners, tools and platforms to optimize data quality and efficiency.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses on specific competitors, markets, or technologies as requested.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Marketing or a related field
  • 5-7+ years experience in qualitative and quantitative market research, competitive intelligence, data analysis, and insights generation.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills and experience preparing and presenting executive-ready reports.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in market research tools and software platforms, including Qualtrics.
  • Proficiency with competitive intelligence tools and research databases.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience in health care or health insurance preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to work remotely from a dedicated space and in a professional office setting.
  • Ability to commute to corporate office on a regular basis
  • Ability to operate personal computer and related technologies.
  • Ability to travel by air as required by company and business.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a matrixed environment.

The target hiring range for this role is $115,345- $156,055 (Annually). The starting base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors.
